Openness when two or more parties involved in a given agreement or arrangement freely share information in relation to that arrangement without leaving any details out whether they think its relevant or not.
I think and know that communication is very important in any given arrangement starting from relationships between two people like those dating, friends or married to complex arrangements like multinational corporations and anywhere in-between.
A while back there was a strike at the my University were students decided to demonstrate their displeasure with the school administration according to how things are run within the campus and after this demonstration the whole student body where called for a sit down with the school administration to explain what caused this behavior, and out of all the complaints that where aired there was one thing that struck me as common to all the complaints and this is communication. Well the University Administration does make communication to Students but what communication where they talking about?
According to me I think there are two forms of communication, Open and Closed Communication, Open in the sense that both parties are allowed to contribute, to be part of the discussion and Closed in the sense that only one party dictates the terms of the arrangement and if i am right you find that closed communication doesn't really work well in most cases.
I am very passionate about bringing change to my surrounding community and Africa as a whole, and I believe openness plays a big role in bringing change -- openness in form of, open ideas, open education, open politics and the like. Imagine how fast people can develop in scenario/setting where people openly share resources, ideas, thoughts and so on.

Looking forward to WhyOpen?
I have always believed in openness where issues affect more than one person, several issues awaken when things are kept a secret among people and the consequences are unavoidable.
In my University there are very few ways of getting information around which i think is not a good way of doing things, people should work as hard or as smart as possible to have others know whatever is being done that affects them directly. I would like to promote openness wherever I go its the best way to communicate.
And this is basically why i have decided to be part of this course #WhyOpen? offered at Peer 2 Peer University (P2PU) where people work together to learn a particular topic by completing tasks, assessing individual and group work, and providing constructive feedback.
I think you should also check out Peer 2 Peer University (P2PU) and find a course that interests you.
